A cycling route in the Fermane hills, ancient villages and the valley of the Tenna River which marks the long route from the Sibillini Mountains to the Adriatic Sea. We start from the historic center of Montegiorgio which urban structure dates back to the Middle Ages, when the Benedictine monks settled there from the ninth century, who welcomed the first inhabitants of Montegiorgio. It was a Farfa fief, then a free Ghibelline commune, with a continuous succession of alliances and clashes with nearby Fermo. An improvement in the economy was promoted by a prosperous Jewish colony which, in the thirteenth century, moved from Florence and settled in the territory of Montegiorgio, stimulating trade. Here, after the beautiful visit of the historic center, we begin our ride by tackling the ridge of the hill downhill that will take us to Magliano di Tenna, another beautiful Borgo Antico with a circular layout of the fourteenth-century walls reproduces the atmosphere of the ancient historic center. One asserts that the toponym of Magliano derives from the Roman family of the "Manli". We continue our ride towards the valley of the Tenna River which we will skirt up to Belmonte Piceno where a crossing will take us back to a beautiful country road that will lead us back to Montegiorgio.
