Welcome to
Montemarciano

Montemarciano is a small town overlooking the rolling hills of the Adriatic coast, set in a panoramic position with views stretching from the Gulf of Ancona to the promontory of Monte Conero and across to the peaks of the Marche Apennines. It is an area where hillside landscapes meet the sea, while still maintaining a strong connection to its maritime heritage.

This relationship with the Adriatic is especially evident in the district of Marina di Montemarciano, the coastal heart of the municipality and a place deeply tied to the history of the sea and trade routes. The area’s ancient origins are revealed through numerous Roman archaeological discoveries brought to light in recent years, offering evidence of early settlements once established along the coastline.

Along the Strada Statale 16 stands the evocative Mandracchio, a historic structure dating back to the 15th century and one of the few remaining traces of an ancient coaching inn and horse-changing station. It serves as a reminder of the important role this territory once played as a route of passage and connection through the centuries.

Between the sea, the hills and its historical heritage, Montemarciano preserves an authentic and peaceful atmosphere, ideal for those wishing to discover a lesser-known stretch of the Marche coastline, rich in character and local identity.
