The Museum of Processional Crosses was inaugurated in 2001. It is dedicated to Monsignor Manfroni and diligently curated by the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament in the historic center of Petriolo. After an intense restoration that took place between 1999 and 2000, the Museum consists in an exhibition organized on two floors, boasting historical wooden crosses dating back to the 17th century and used during the local religious processions. It also displays various furnishings and paintings depicting important historical and religious figures of Petriolo, including clergy members Felice Silvestrini, Giovanni Siciliani and Antonio Doria. This varied collection also preserves a prestigious silver monstrance (1782) made by Macerata-based artist Domenico Piani.
The Museum is also home to the Archive of the Confraternities of Mercy and the Blessed Sacrament: bookkeeping records, meetings and other documents of extreme value for the study of the history of the territory are kept here, the oldest of which dates back to the 16th century.
