Located a few meters from Piazza Corridoni, the Corridoni Museum-Birth Place is famously dedicated to the trade unionist and early 20th-century hero Filippo Corridoni. Born in Corridonia from a modest family, Corridoni graduated as an expert machine designer and began working as a mechanical designer in Milan, where he matured his revolutionary spirit. He founded the periodical Rompete le Righe!, with a clear anti-militarist intent, and was imprisoned several times until he was exiled to Nice and Zurich. He returned to Corridonia in 1910 and back to Milan in 1911, where he founded the USM (Union of Trade Unions of Milan). He supported the Italian interventionist cause during WWI; he eventually lost his life in the 'Trincea delle Frasche'.
The Corridoni Museum allows visitors to appreciate the profile and historical impact that Corridoni had throughout his life. Articulated on two levels, it highlights the hero's existence, from his first experiences in politics to his interventionist phase.
