The territory of Petriolo is rich in extravagant cultural elements and crafts. A striking example is represented by the Guinness World Record-winning shoe, made in 1996 by the Petriolo-based artisan Pasquale Pacetti. Although today the shoe has been moved to Montegranaro, the people of Petriolo consider it a symbol of the region's craftsmanship. It is 280 cm long and over a meter high!
Another curious place in Petriolo is represented by the Museum of Talking Machines.
What are talking machines, you may ask?
We refer to all those devices that, in history, have served for the reproduction of sound; notably, the most representative ones from the 19th and 20th century are phonographs, gramophones and telephones.
This Museum in Petriolo is one of the most captivating examples of 'secret places' of the entire Region. Born from the desire of local collector Elia Miliozzi to share his passion for ‘talking machines’, it houses record players, gramophones, radios, telephones, amplifiers and magnetic recorders. Travelers can even discover 'unique' pieces made by Miliozzi himself around 1930, wandering through time and sounds from the past.
